I have noticed with worrying consent how a news item carrying
information claiming I endorsed President John Mahama for the 2012
elections which is causing serious havoc to my personality.
I was recommend as an m.c for the launch of VFM (Volunteers For
Mahama) due to my expertise in manning events with humorous antics of
which I delivered to satisfaction. I would not run away from those
comments I made, I totally own up to them. However I need to clear the
air on this issue; I was an m.c not a volunteer, As an m.c I must endeavour to not only inform the audience but
entertain them as well since the event was intertwined with musical
performances hence I did politically related jokes with ONLY the purpose
of entertaining the audience and nothing more but to my surprise the
joke was taken out of context and it metamorphosized into highly
politically motivated sentiments, which I deem too far fetched since its
purpose was misconstrued.
I am only an entertainer and have no affiliation with any political
party in other words I was on the podium doing my job. I don’t have my
name in any political party’s record as a member, affiliate, endorser,
sympathizer etc therefore my utterances carry no political weight.
Furthermore you would realise I gave frivolous reasons why I would
rather John Mahama because he uses an i pads and blackberry therefore he
is as youthful as I am and also juxstaposing my violence scandal
against the “all die be die” mantra etc all these I said with no touched
of seriousness but only to evoke laughter, frankly blackberries, ipad
and mantras are not good enough reasons why I would endorse a political
party. I respect everyone’s affinity for their respective political
parties and I would never say anything to deliberately provoke or
disrespect them its rather unfortunate my purpose for the comments was
overstretched

Lilanda, Osborne seek to pacify Kay and Mampi
The recent wrangles between Mampi and Kay have been tabloid folder for weeks now. The argument as to who started it has caused two camps to emerge – Team Mampi and Team Kay and the argument has taken root on twitter and facebook. This was after a physical fight between the two musicians at the Lusaka Playhouse during rehearsals for a concert when a long standing feud between the two divas ended in a slap-and-claws session. However, many have spoken out about how the problem does not lie with who started the fight but the fight itself. Veteran female artistes have also spoken out and urged the two artistes to bury the hatchet. Jane Osborne and Maureen Lilanda are undoubtedly etched as Zambia’s favourite song birds thus they are better placed to give some much needed advice to Kay and Mampi. The disappointment felt by Jane Osborne over the fight is evident in her voice.
“I was disappointed when I read about it because they are sending out a very bad message to people.”
Jane said adding that God has blessed them with great talent to make people happy and forget their problems but the two are using it in a bad way instead of setting up a good example for their fans.
“I am a fan of both of them but I am disappointed that they are wasting their God given talent , my advice would be for them to make up and even work together instead of selling themselves negatively.”
The legendary Jane’s advice that there is no need to fight is timely and has been reiterated by Maureen ‘Lupo’ Lilanda.
Maureen emphasises the need for artistes to be humble citing her Christian beliefs as the basis for her advice.
“Even we older female artistes have had beefs but we have learnt to be diplomatic because you will at some point work together whether you like it or not,”she said.
Maureen added that as a Christian she has learnt to ignore people who she does not get along with and that she believes in one staying true to one self.
“There is no need to out-do yourself, concentrate on what you are doing well as an artiste.”
Maureen further adds that in as much as competition makes you stronger there is no need for physical confrontation or petty jealousy about material possessions.
The two legends have spoken and a well-known Zambian proverb says that a child who does not hear when little is uttered will never hear when a lot is said.
We only hope that the two artistes will heed the advice readily given to them by two of the country’s music legends.
It is worth noting that being a female artiste already comes with a lot of prejudice and misconceptions and having two highly prolific artistes fight is damaging to the industry.
As Jane Osborne says, talent must never be misused or it can be taken away so put back those claws and compete musically not physically.

Soon, scandal, groupies and bling are dogging his every move, as his love partners are put under the glare of the media microscope, club drama rapturously reported and high living lavishly laid out, magazine-esque.
The present
Along comes Big Brother, the 2012 StarGame, and it becomes the media vehicle that will redeem Prezzo’s image in the eyes of very many Kenyans – and resurrect him. Although el Presidente doesn’t win the $ 300 000, he wins the hearts of many in Africa .

Karen Igho Dares Men!
Entertainment personality and Co-winner of the sixth season of
Africa’s biggest reality competition ‘Big Brother Africa’ 2011, Karen
Igho is certainly not a hard knot to crack when it comes to falling in
love.
In fact, the Edo State born entertainer describes herself as ” a woman who desires to be loved and wooed by the opposite sex.”
Speaking exclusively with WG on her love life, Karen expressed disappointment that men are not bracing up to woo her, despite the fact that she is not as difficult as they think.
” Men are supposed to woo me. I’m a woman and I’m very soft. They shouldn’t be scared of asking me out. I want a decent man, and not any kind of man.” Karen said, in a recent chat with WG.
Declaring however that she’s still “single and ready to mingle”, Karen who only few months ago debuted as a radio personality with the fast rising Lagos indigenous radio station, Naija fm 102.7, set a standard for her dream man.
According to her, ” he must not only be ‘God-fearing’ and comfortable’ but also, he must be down-to-earth and not necessarily a bachelor.”

Prezzo Jets Off To New York
Last night, Prezzo left for New York City to attend the grand opening
of the $1 billion Barclays Center where rapper and business mogul Jay-Z
is set to officially christen Brooklyn’s new sports/entertainment
arena, the new home of NBA franchise, the Nets.
The Nets, formerly of New Jersey, will make their debut as the Brooklyn Nets this fall, and Barclays will serve as the team’s home. But, they won’t be the first to officially break the new arena in. Jay-Z will.
The hip-hop superstar will kick off the
launch of the venue with eight shows, starting Friday (September 28, 2012), with Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand, and others playing host in the weeks following.
The $1 billion complex features 19,000 seats, a Calvin Klein Courtside Club, designed specifically with VIPs like Jay and Beyonce in mind. Other features include a three-story HD scoreboard, one of the biggest in the NBA.
Jay-Z is a minority owner of the Nets, and has logged extensive hours helping bring Barclays to fruition. He also led the redesign of the Nets’ new logo, uniforms, etc.
This part of Prezzo‘s new status as the next Ambassador for the ONE Campaign, an organization which campaigns to fight extreme poverty and global diseases. A reward he got for winning the ONE Campaign task during the Big Brother StarGame show which saw Nigerian super star and ONE Campaign Ambassador, 2face visiting the Big Brother house.

Denrele Opens Up On BFF Goldie
Nigerian Channel O VJ Denrele Edun admits that he was shocked by
Goldie’s ‘so soft’ side in the Big Brother house. Denrele who has been
Goldie’s best friend for almost five years says that he was really
shocked to realise that there was so much that he did not know about
her.
“I always assumed that I knew my friend so well but the Goldie I saw on TV was something else. I even started watching it seriously just to see what else I had missed on her for those five years that we have been close friends” Denrele revealed.
Denrele, who was among the entourage that went to the airport to pick Goldie on her arrival from South Africa admits that he also had a hard time explaining Goldie’s soft side to her fans in her absence.
“It was not easy for both of us but I remember the first thing I told her on arrival at the airport ‘Everything will be ok’” he said.
Goldie on the other hand says that she acted naturally and the person that the whole of Africa saw was her. “People are used to seeing Goldie the entertainer forgetting that I’m a normal woman. What you saw on TV is the ordinary me,” she said.

Goldie’s First Lady Treat In Tanzania
Here once more, we have 24-carat Gold, our own Susan ‘Goldie‘ Harvey receiving accolades worthy of a Princess-come-home. In African culture and specifically Tanzania, when a ‘mwana-mwali’ is welcomed to a home, she is adorned in a ‘khanga’ or ‘kikoi’ by older women as a sign of respect and acceptance into her new family.
This is a dream-episode that every loving African mum and especially mum-in-law yearns for and we see here Goldie being adorned in a ‘khanga’ by Jane Peter Mhina and Hellen Gupta -the mother to Big Brother Africa Tanzania Rep, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Gupta who had also found her soul-mate Kevin Chuwang-Pam within the camera-ridden walls of Big Brother Revolution House..
Isn’t she and serendipity just peachy?
Goldie's New Look Exclusive Pics
She might have not done well to people’s expectations while in the big brother house but things seem to be going on well on former Nigerian rep to the big brother stargame Goldie. Check out her latest photos.
Meanwhile Goldie should be back home now as she and her friend Denrele Edun left Kenya yesterday.
Hosting Star Gist Is A Dream Come True – Vimbai
Africa got to know the 25-year old Zimbabwean model, Vimbai
Mutinhiri as the no-nonsense diva in last year’s Big Brother Amplified
reality TV show. Today, she has captivated many viewers across Africa as
the sassy, elegant and eloquent host of Star Gist on the AfricaMagic Entertainment channel, alongside the witty Lawrence Maleka from South Africa.
Together, Vimbai and Lawrence have brought viewers across the continent exclusive star profiles, behind-the-scenes, features, event guides and continental and international headlines on the daily. Vimbai recently visited Ghana for the first time on assignment to cover the launch of a fashion label by her former Ghanaian Big Brother Housemate, Confidence Haugen. While in Ghana she reunited and partied with Confidence and several other Big Brother Africa housemates including Hanni (Ethiopia), Vina (Nigeria), Karen (Nigeria), and Lomwe (Malawi).
We caught up with the bubbly Vimbai for a quick chat before she jetted out of Accra.
How did you find your first visit to Ghana?
Well it’s been amazing, it’s very surreal. I have heard a lot about Accra, Aphrodisiac Nightclub and the people, and to be here in the flesh is very surreal. I love it, great people, warm people, and Ghanaians party very hard. It was fun meeting lots of Ghanaian celebrities, it’s been fantastic!
What have you been up to after Big Brother Africa?
Since Big Brother, I continued modeling because I started as a model. And now I host a TV show called StarGist which is one of Africa’s biggest daily entertainment shows on AfricaMagic Entertainment from Monday to Friday. That’s really a dream come true, it’s all I ever wanted to do. It’s an embodiment of who I am; I love African entertainment and telling positive African success stories.
What has been your biggest highlight so far on Star Gist?
The highlight was hosting the red carpet for the Big Brother Stargame finale. That was definitely a career highlight. I was telling my friends that last year I left Big Brother as a loser, and to go back there and be a winner in my own way was just a great experience.
What is the schedule for recording Star Gist like?
It is very hectic. It’s Monday to Friday and it’s just like having a 9 to 5 but I love it because it’s more like a lifestyle for me. So I don’t stop working, literally. If I am not shooting, I am probably on ameyawdebrah.com reading about what’s happening in the entertainment world, or checking the blogs because we always try to keep up to date with what is happening. So its grueling but when you love what you do and it’s your lifestyle, then it is only a joy and pleasure.
You must be enjoying the travelling also?
I am enjoying the traveling; I want to get to see more and more of Africa

You have a great onscreen chemistry with Lawrence, how do you guys do it?
Lawrence and I are like siblings to each other. We bully each other but it is all fun and games and he is a great person to work with. Lawrence doesn’t stop us laughing, he is such a comedian. So that makes it really easy if you are having a long day and he comes up with one of his moments; it’s priceless!
So do you do Star Gist fulltime or you have other projects on the side?
It is fulltime! I want to focus on it for now and I want to make sure I am as great as I can be on that show before I branch into other things. But definitely, there’re more things to come!
What should we expect from Vimbai?
We are building a new brand for Miss Vimbai, which is really about celebrating African entertainment and African celebrities on a broader platform; opening Africa to a lot more people within the continent. So expect more of that, expect me on your rumps. I hear Ghana Fashion and Design Week is coming up, so you can expect me back in Accra for that. And for the rest of Africa, I am at an event or red carpet near you very soon.

BBA’s Kyle Smitten With Juliana
It looks like BBA Stargame housemate, Kyle Duncan Kushaba is ready to
sit at the table of men. The rookie TV presenter was smoked busy trying
to take his game to city diva and star singer Juliana Kanyomozi. The
pair was smoked out at one of the top city restaurants recently. Holding
a red rose in one hand and the ‘Nabikoowa’ singer’s waist in another,
Kyle looks ready to romp as Juliana shyly holds onto his shoulder.
This isn’t shocking considering the fact Kyle has been connected to South Africa fashion designer Stella Nankya aka Star Qt. Apparently, she is behind Kyle’s fashion label.

Why I Lost Interest In Big Brother Africa – Belinda
One of Ghana’s rising actresses, Belinda Sefakor Dzata, has confessed
to having succumbed to pressure from her family and friends to ‘forget’
taking part in the Big Brother Africa reality show.
The actress said she had always fantasized about being in the famous Big Brother house, and even auditioned once but failed to make it through. This, she said, was in 2009, for the Big Brother Revolution, which Ras Wayo was chosen.
A very disappointed Belinda had vowed to audition again the following year, but completely lost interest after her friends and family talked her out of the decision.
“My mom told me she will disown me if i ever stepped a foot in the Big Brother house,” she said. Further more, Belinda said majority of her friends discouraged her from the competition, with some even telling her it will be difficult for her to have a husband when she returns home.
Belinda, having a strong Christian background, eventually succumbed to the pressure. “My mom is a religious leader, while my uncle and grandfather are all strong Deeper Life elders.
“Most of my family members attend Deeper Life; I seem to be the only one who is Charismatic,” she said.
Belinda believes a Ghanaian would’ve won the competition by now if she had ever had the opportunity to represent Ghana. “I am fun to be with, i tolerate people a lot, i’m a nice person, i’m gifted, people like me wherever i go, and i relate to everybody equally.
Belinda, who clearly has a sense of humour, is still contemplating whether or not to audition for the next Big Brother Africa reality show.
Belinda who has quite a number of movies to her credit, started auditioning for onscreen acting roles at age 10. Oblivious of her acting abilities, she was utterly scorned and never given a role until 2003 when Revele Films, one of the internationally acclaimed Ghanaian film makers; discovered her in one of their auditions.
She was played the role of a nurse for the then “Home Sweet Home” television series. In no time, her fame started soaring.
The CEO of Venus Film, Mr. Abdul Salam Mumuni “movie stars maker” welcomed her into his production outfit.
Since then, she has featured in Venus Films block buster movies such as Beyonce, Chelsea, 4 Play, Strippers, The Prince Bride and Elmina by Revele Films and still counting. Currently, Belinda is the gluttonous female maidservant character in the TV series ‘The 5 Brides’ which shows Mondays at 8pm on Viasat1.

Goldie Visits Prezzo In Kenya- Wedding Calls Or Stunt?
Goldie is in good hands at the moment as she paid a return visit to
lover boy, Prezzo in Kenya.Prezzo was the first to visit Goldie in
Nigeria to plead for understanding over the way he treated her during
the Big Brother Africa star game show.
When Prezzo came to Nigeria he disclosed that he was in love with Goldie and never ruled out the possibility of marriage later in life. The two were fond of each other during the Big Brother 7 TV reality show.Later,Goldie accused Prezzo of not returning her love with true affection. When Prezzo came to Nigeria, he had a press conference but throughout his stay, there was no media report on his meeting with Goldie.
Now that Goldie has gone to visit Prezzo in Kenya, keen observers believe that the couple might have settled their misunderstanding and ready to move on with marriage. Others simply believe the visit was mere stunt or at best part of Goldie’s working visit to the East African country.

The two were fond of each other during the Big Brother 7 TV reality show.Later,Goldie accused Prezzo of not returning her love with true affection. When Prezzo came to Nigeria, he had a press conference but throughout his stay, there was no media report on his meeting with Goldie.

Prezzo and Goldie Hooking Up in Kenya?
Big Brother housemates, Prezzo and Goldie might be having a hush hush
affair. Nigerian singer, Goldie jetted into Nairobi on Saturday night
and was received by on-screen lover Prezzo and fellow reality show
housemate Millicent Mugadi.
Goldie’s arrival was kept secret from the press. Reportedly when Goldie landed at JKIA she hugged Millicent and sprinted towards Prezzo who was standing a stone’s throw away from the arrivals area and also hugged him.
Clearly the media reports that the two are at loggerheads bears no
water, as the celebrity couple couldn’t contain their excitement. Asked
how long she is in the country for, Goldie told Word Is, “For a week or
so,” adding that she will be “recording some music”.
So will Prezzo be recording with Goldie? “I don’t know about that but
I know we will be making some music together,” Prezzo said. Shortly
after her arrival at midnight, Goldie’s luggage was bundled into
Prezzo’s waiting car – a silver Mercedes E-Class – and headed to “the
hotel” where she will be staying.
Big Brother’s Maureen in Zumba scandal
Gossip
Maureen Namatovu from BBA 2 is now going by the name of Maureen Garrett and is a Zumba instructor at the Virgin Active Gym in Pretoria. I recently attended her class, it is terrible.
She told me she now lives in Pretoria with her husband and son.
Anyone go to the Virgin Active in Pretoria? If so, please spill – is it true?
I was quizzy to find out more so I did a search for her and the first thing that popped was a bizarre blog that declares how happy she is with the rich dude she married about three years ago.

Did Alex Find Love Or a Replacement For Weza?
Well I didn’t watch former Big Brother Africa housemate, Alex
‘Bomaye’ Biney’s reality TV series, ‘I am In Love with Bomaye’ which run
for some months on Multi TV, so I never really knew much of the girls
on the show. But after spotting Bomaye and Promzy, his eventual pick
from the TV show at Sunday evening’s launch of The Konfidence Label, it
appears to me that he found a perfect replacement for Angolan TV star
and Big Brother Housemate, Weza Solange. Promzy bears some striking
resemblance with Waza that made me to keep clicking away. While on the
Big Brother show, Bomaye was entangled in a love triangle between
himself, Weza and Miss P from Botswana.
Meanwhile the Bomaye and promzy continue to show affection for each
other in public, and insist that they will get married soon. Bomaye
recently told Yaw Sakyi on The Rundown show that he has been abstaining
from sex for over 5 years and that he will only break the celibacy once
married. Promzy also said on the show that there would be no sex until
marriage. HMMMM!!!!

Zeus’ Rounds Off SA Circuit
Botswana’s Channel O video awards nominee, Game ‘Zeus’ Bantsi rounds
off his South Africa tour this week with media interviews in the
neighbouring country as he continues his campaign to promote his music
outside Botswana.
The Hip-Hop star returns home later in the week to feature in this weekend’s Spring Explosion. Zeus performed at events in Pretoria on Wednesday and Johannesburg on Sunday. The award-winning musician is out to use his recent Channel O nomination, the fourth in his career, to broaden his external fan base.
He has been nominated for the prestigious Channel O Awards that are set for November 17 at the Walter Sisulu Square in Johannesburg. Zeus, a 2011 Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant, is in the running for the Most Gifted African: South video award courtesy of his song titled Dancing Shoes.
He is vying for the accolade alongside South Africa’s HHP for his hit single, Bosso Ke Mang. But for now, Zeus will focus on promoting his music in the neighbouring country. The Hip-hop ace’s manager, Tshepo ‘Rox’ Sikwane revealed that their promotional expedition was well on course.
“We are trying to keep him there more often. We need to get into the South African market because the Botswana market is quite small looking at the population.” He said the nomination was heartening considering that it was Zeus’ first Dance project.
Interestingly, the Dancing Shoes project was merely a pilot dance music venture for Botswana’s Hip Hop pin up.
“This is an encouragement as we did a genre which was not known. As we look back, we do believe Zeus has done well for himself. It was a success and we look forward to the awards and hope Batswana will support him,” he told Showbiz. Zeus, a one-time Channel O award winner, is the only Botswana nominee in the 14 categories at the ninth edition of the awards.
Since the inception of the awards, Batswana artists, Mista Doe, Acid, Scar and Zeus, have had the privilege of bringing home some awards for their respective music videos. Meanwhile, Zeus’ collaboration with Malawi’s Lomwe Double Wowza is getting airplay on Channel O. The duo have also released three radio singles while the whole project will be available for download on an upcoming Double Wowza website.
Lomwe says he is happy for Zeus’ nomination and believes his associate deserves the recognition. To vote for Zeus send a text message of his code (11D) to +27839208406 or other social sites MXit and Facebook.
