A cold welcome for Maneta in Bulawayo

Revellers thronged the Jock and Saddle but many said they were not interested in meeting Maneta who had disgraced her country with her behaviour in the Big Brother House.
In separate interviews revellers said they had heard of Maneta’s party but were not interested in meeting her.
“Whether Maneta is here or not is neither here nor there we are here to have fun like most weekends. She can sit in the VIP section and we shall be here drinking and partying the night away,” said Anthony Moyo from Hillside.
He said both Roki and Maneta should be ashamed of their actions as they painted a bad picture of Zimbabwe.
“How can a grown man like Roki be rumour mill and tittle-tattle on a young woman, seriously? Roki should have been ashamed of himself. His tactics to win the game were disgusting and I wonder why everyone is hero worshipping a gossiper,” said Moyo.

Another reveller Michelle Pritchard said Maneta was an embarrassment to the Bulawayo community and her presence at the party was a non event.
“I am not moved a bit with her presence, honestly she has not achieved anything and she is only known for riotous behaviour and being a foul mouth like her compatriot Roki. I am just here to celebrate my cousin’s birthday,” she said.
Her friend who only identified himself as Fitzgerald said he only heard that there was a party for Maneta and asked who she was.
Maneta arrived at the party clad in a black dress and pink high heeled shoes at about 1am and went straight to the VIP section. The VIP section that had white couches and a matching carpet had a glass table that had champagne, whisky, ciders and wines.
She and her entourage were accompanied there by Babongile Sikhonjwa, the head of Ballers League. In an interview during the party Maneta said she arrived in Bulawayo on Friday from Harare and she was also in the city to register for her degree programme.
She said she was misunderstood about lambasting Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) when she said it was a corrupt organisation.

“All organisations have corrupt people and those few are the bad apples in these organisations. My comments were taken out of context, I never attacked Zimra. I only used it as a reference,” said Maneta.
She said she was going back to Harare to sort out things for projects she was not at liberty to divulge to the media. Maneta said Roki was the troublemaker and when he poured water on her on the fateful day of the disqualification he had got on her last nerve.
“He (Roki) had been doing it (pouring water) since morning and as you know everyone has a breaking point and that day I had had enough of Roki,” said Maneta. She said when she left the house she hurled obscenities at other housemates because she was highly emotional.
“It was an expression of emotion and nothing else. At the end of the day we are both to blame for our disqualification,” said Maneta. She said people should not judge by what they saw in the show as she was playing a game, but they had a right to their opinion.
“People should not be quick to judge me, I was just playing the game. The comments on social networks were just people expressing their opinions that they are entitled to,” said Maneta. She thanked all who came to welcome her back home. The Chronicle

What Happens Outside The Big brother House

Following the evictions of well-known celebrities and reality TV personalities from the much talked about Big Brother Africa show on DStv, an event is put on every Tuesday to celebrate the recently evicted contestants.
Since Tuesday the 19th of June, the Randburg Amphitheatre, in the heart of the town’s shopping district, has come alive with fans congregating to be entertained by Emcee

Nkanyiso Bhengu, great music and a chance to pose for a photograph with the Big Brother contestant.
As part of the platform, DStv is promoting its products and services and is also giving away prizes, including a DStv Mobile Walka Handheld TV and DStv Standard Decoder plus installation, at every event.

News: Keagan Beats Prezzo!

News: Keagan Would Beat Prezzo!
After spending a good part of the night sleeping, Keitta and Wati woke up to dry pots.

Upon realizing that no one had bothered to set aside some dinner for them, the disappointed pair started roasting some meat just before midnight.

Jannette joined the guys as they sat in the lounge chatting about how the game is likely to pan out. The three tried making sense of what was happening between Keagan and Prezzo. They noted that the beef between the two was serious and it went to the extent of who would beat who if it would get to that point. "Less competition for us," Jannette said.

News: Kyle & Prezzo to Work Together?

Wed, 11 Jul 2012 00:00

News: Kyle & Prezzo to Work Together?
Wait a minute, is Kyle not the same guy that was dissing Prezzo just now?

Well, after his chat with Alex, Kyle had a lengthy chat with Prezzo about the music industry and his plans and if what he was saying is anything to go by, then Kyle enjoyed the chat.

However, in the Big Brother House one can never know if Housemates are really getting along or just strategizing. As if the chat itself was not enough to shock everyone, Kyle went on to shower the Kenyan singer with accolades on his music and even advised him to remix one of his singles.

An evidently excited Prezzo couldn't contain himself and offered to work on something with Kyle after the StarGame. There was a lot of joking around and encouraging each other amongst the East African Housemates and it all looked so believable.

News: Prezzo's Not Famous, Just Popular!
"Prezzo is not famous, what is he famous for?" Kyle queried as he gossiped with Alex at night.

Sitting in the patio, the guys tried to make sense of what makes Prezzo tick and they concluded that he was not cool at all. They called him f*** up because of the way he is overprotective of Goldie.

"I felt Goldie, she's just nice, she's simple and that's what I appreciate about her," Kyle added. He insisted that if Prezzo presses his buttons any further, he'll be in for it. "There's a difference between being famous and popular," Kyle stressed.

He's Not Famous

News: You Stole My Vodka!

News: You Stole My Vodka!
Whatever happened to Talia's vodka remains a mystery but she will not rest until she finds it.

Her first step was cross examining Keagan, Kyle, Alex and Jannette. None of these Housemates could own up to the knowing where the alcohol had disappeared to. Jannette offered to share her bottle of alcohol with Talia just to make her feel better.

However, Talia concluded that her alcohol must have been stolen by Steve, Wati's intoxicated alter ego. At that point, Steve had already passed out and Talia decided that she would rather question Wati when he wakes up. This is besides the fact that Wati has been banned from alcohol following his alcohol-infused unruly escapades.

When most of the Housemates were asleep, Kyle served himself his alcohol with Sprite, which he had neatly stashed in the bedroom.

Nomination Show (on Monday, July 9, 2012 )

Episode 64: Nomination Show (on Monday, July 9... by bbafrica

Is Prezzo’s Time Up In The Big Brother game??

The four BBA Housemates who escaped eviction this past weekend are back in the stress pool, barely a day after counting themselves lucky for still being in the game.
Prezzo smiled when Biggie called him out up for the eviction last night, alongside Lady May, Kyle and Goldie.

Prezzo got three votes; from Keagan (South Africa), Uganda’s Kyle and his own country man Alex.
Alex, whose brother Malonza was evicted over the weekend, said he nominated Prezzo because the musician is ‘selfish’. His choice over an apparent spat over cigarettes has sparked a mini backlash on twitter, where #KOT (Kenyans on twitter) accused Alex of being a traitor.
One twittera Mary Wanyeri said: ‏”@MissWanyeri – So #Alex nominated #Prezzo today at #BBA, what happened to patriotism….the day #Alex is nominated you will for sure come home with #Zack”.
Prezzo was saved by Kenya and Tanzania last time, and the same countries are expected to stand by him in this second round. However, based on the votes this past weekend, Prezzo and Kyle are the weakest link.
Lady May and Goldie each had more than three countries behind them. The Namibian, who was saved by 5.5 countries, was nominated by the most housemates, getting 8 votes in total. During the nominations, a lot of the housemates didn’t have nice things to say about each other .
Having survived with the least votes last weekend will the weak links, Prezzo and Kyle make it again? Goldie is praying.
Voting lines are open until Sunday, when the verdict will be announced. Malonza meanwhile, is expected back in Nairobi later this week.

Record Eviction Survivors

With hardly four weeks left before the Big Brother StarGame comes to an end, there has been some interesting eviction survivors who have faced the wrath of being exposed to the chop block but fortunately had the chance to bounce back into the house.
Currently, Upville houses ten remaining housemates, eight of them have already tasted the weird feeling of being put up for possible eviction. Jannette and Alex have been lucky to enjoy the ‘honey moon’ and thus hardly have any idea of how it feels to be put up for eviction.
Lady May and Keitta are the only housemates so far who hold the record for surviving the chop block twice. The first time Lady May was up for eviction was when DKB replaced himself with her since he was Head of House, she survived then. Recently, the Namibian singer was again up for eviction but she pulled through with 5.5 country votes.
Talking about Keitta, the Ghanaian’s first time to be up for eviction was when he was still playing the game as a pair with Mildred, that particular night, he survived but had stiff competition from Botswana’s Eve. The second time was a few weeks back when Goldie saved sweetheart Prezzo and put him up for eviction via the replace and save session.
Prezzo, Goldie, Keagan, Wati, Talia and Kyle have been up for eviction before once, if possible, they would probably give anything in order not to go through the eviction scenario again. Prezzo, Goldie and Kyle were last week exposed to the gallows but the trio bounced back into the house.
Talia, Wati and Keagan have also been up for eviction once before. They survived on the eventful nights they were upgraded to Upville as their respective partners went Homeville. Keagan would already have been up for eviction thrice but he has been saving himself twice courtesy of the powers of being Head of House.
Unfortunately, Kyle has been replaced by the Head of House as he (Keagan) seemed to be out of options. The Ugandan rep is now up for possible eviction for a consecutive week and so are Lady May, Goldie and Prezzo.
As for Jannette and Alex, the two have enjoyed a smooth road so far as they hardly know how it feels to be up for eviction, no wonder Talia gave the same reason yesterday when she nominated them. The Zambian lass said that she wanted to find out how strong the two were by nominating them.

Keagan: No longer A Game it’s Serious Business

Housemates were waiting for Biggie to announce nominees for this week’s eviction. When Biggie announced Goldie, Keagan, Lady May and Prezzo as the nominees for this week’s eviction, the boys went out to release the stress with cigarettes.
As they smoked they talked of the game getting serious, Keagan, Wati and Keitta talked of the game getting to serious business. They said it’s no longer a game it’s business and its about  300,000 dollars.
Keagan told Keitta who almost clashed with Kyle to cool down saying that Keitta should know that the three “motherf….kers” are nominated and that’s why the environment was tense. He went on to say that Keitta should not mess himself but should wait to see two of the three “motherf….kers” leave on Sunday.
Keagan  said when two of the three “motherf….kers” leave on Sunday, then it will be a downnville over throw of upville. Adding that when they remain in the house then the game will take another twist as they will be nominating themselves.
Keagan saved himself yet again and put up Kyle in his place, the mood in the house is getting tense as Goldie’s high mood has been quenched by Biggie’s announcements. Lady May went upstairs immediately  after Biggie’s announcement, Prezzo did not take long either, he joined Goldie in the bed room. Will the celebrities survive this time round?

News: Wati and Booze Are We Seeing A Ban Again???

Wati seems not to  have  learnt enough from his alcohol ban. The Malawian rep has continued to have alcohol for breakfast and drinks very early in the morning.

Wati got drunk this morning and began to yell  insults and abused some of his fellow housemates. The twenty two year old had his ban lifted yesterday and  the ban came at a time when housemates received their weekly shopping rewards.

To Wati, it was time to compensate the few days he was missing from the bottle. Wati in company of Alex, Keitta, Keagan, Jannette and Talia drunk till wee hours in the morning and to make matters worse for the Malawian, he woke up late this morning with a glass of liquor. During the ban, Wati could not wait for Biggie lift it, he resumed taking booze before his ban was lifted. The ban was lifted when Wati had already resumed drinking without Biggie’s orders.
The manner in which he behaved today is an indicator that Wati has not learnt anything from the ban and Biggie has warned to ration or ban alcohol from the house should housemates continue to misbehave.

News: So Much Tension

News: So Much Tension
What's with the original Upvillers tip toeing around each other like this?

Goldie and Prezzo seem to be just civil with Lady May, which is quite weird considering that they are the only three surviving Upvillers after being overthrown by the Downvillers. Actually, their Starmates were all chopped by the dagger.

It was awkward when the three found themselves together in the kitchen just before supper. The tension was so thick, you could cut through it. There was a lot of talking when spoken to and being extra nice to each other, which was a bit off putting.

Faking It!

News: Oh Kinky Jannette!

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

News: Oh Kinky Jannette!
Who would have thought 16 year old Jannette had an older guy and wine at her family home?

Well, Jannette revealed it all to Talia and Keagan in the evening as they relaxed in the bedroom. She said the guy who was ten years her senior was irresistible and she invited him home for a good time.

The unfortunate part of all this fun is that her mom walked in on them - no, they were not doing any hanky-panky but they were in a rather compromising position. Considering that she was just 16 and there was no prize for guessing that she had had wine, her mom was obviously furious.

Well, the brave Jannette still had the nerve to introduce the guy to her mom, who does that? "You're sly huh?" Keagan said. "I'm glad she didn't come earlier because we had been busy kissing," Jannette said.

News: Who Will Be The Manipulator?

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

News: Who Will Be The Manipulator?
War of Roles!
With less than 24 hours to make their super hero and villain outfits, the last thing the Housemates need is an argument.

Who is what and who will do what became the order of an almost endless discussion where at least three of them wanted to be the Manipulator. Talia, Alex and Keagan all claimed to be the Manipulator. "I'll be the mind controller," Talia insisted while Keagan and Alex argued with her about who said it first.

Biggie armed the Housemates with fabrics to manufacture their best looking outfits for their characters.

Diary Room: Goldie Doesn't Deserve This

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Diary Room: Goldie Doesn't Deserve This
Of all the nominees, Kyle really thinks Goldie didn't deserve to be up there.

Speaking during his Diary session, Kyle said there were no surprises on Lady May and Prezzo, implying that they deserved it. "She's just a simple girl in love," he argued.

Kyle's fixation with the Nigerian singer has led to a rift between him and Prezzo and without really saying anything; apparently the Masai warrior has been giving Kyle dirty looks.

Kyle said Keagan was also not that popular among the original Upvillers which could've been the reason why he was placed on the hot seat. What Kyle doesn't know though is that Keagan ditched the hot seat and has Kyle's backside snuggly perched on it.

Meanwhile, Lady May stole a moment to thank Africa for keeping her in the game after last week's Evictions. She sang her lungs out in a specially crafted piece to show her gratitude to the continent for believing in her.

Diary Room: Crying Prezzo

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Diary Room: Prezzo’s Meltdown
StarGame’s self-proclaimed Masai warrior broke down in tears today during his diary session.

It seems as if the tension in the House has got the best of the Kenyan. “I have so much anger in my heart,” said a trembling Prezzo while trying to hold back his tears.

Ever since the Housemates were all merged things have changed in Upville as the rowdy Downvillers brought along with them chaos and disorderliness. This disorder has been the main source of division between the former Downvillers and the original Upvillers.

Today it finally all become too much for the rapper to handle and he was overwhelmed by a flood of emotions. The Kenyan expressed to Biggie that it has taken a lot of restraint on his part to not react violently to what he feels is a lack of respect being displayed by some of the other Housemates towards him and his girl Goldie. For this Big Brother commended the Kenyan and encouraged him to continue practise self-control as Biggie has zero tolerance for violence in the House.

It has become clear that the unruly Keagan is the bane of Prezzo’s existence. Once again the Starmate waxed lyrical about his disdain for the way that some of the other Housemates seem to worship the South African. “When the general says jump they ask how high,” he snipped sarcastically.

Big Brother then queried the celebrity Housemate over whether he and the other celeb Housemates had tried to sit down with the former Downvilllers and air out their differences. But the incensed rapper did not want to hear of peace talks. He quipped: “You’re wasting your breath by confronting someone who is a few screws loose.”

It’s clear that Prezzo has reached a boiling point but for everyone’s sake we sincerely hope that the Kenyan will continue to show restraint and not do anything that he might regret. Hang in there Prezzo.

Diary Room: “It’s War”

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Diary Room: “It’s War”
“It’s war,” those were the explosive words used by Talia to describe the atmosphere in the Big Brother House.

During her diary session the Zambian dished to Big Brother about the tension in the House between the original Upvillers and the former Downvillers. “Prezzo and Goldie feel hated on,” shared the StarGame lass.

As each of the Housemates came into the diary room one by one it became quite clear that this imminent war is on every one’s mind. Goldie and Alex also had a lot to say about the clear division in the House. A very sombre Goldie told Biggie that she feels that she and Prezzo are being excluded by the other Housemates.

As for Alex the Kenyan told Big Brother that the original Upvillers need to learn to not take Nominations so personally. “It just a game,” advised the Upville lad. According to the Kenyan, Prezzo and Goldie are allowing their paranoia get the best of them. “They believe Downvillers are after them but that is not the case.”

Task: Villains And Superheroes

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Task: Villains And Superheroes
Clearly Big Brother has a sense of humour, just as a silent war threatens to breakout between the original Upvillers and the former Downvillers – he has bestowed upon them a Task which will have the Housemates facing battle.

For this week’s Task the StarGamer’s will have to get in touch with their inner villains and superheroes. After the Task briefing the Housemates had to head outside and draw names out of a hat so that there would be five villains and five superheroes.

In preparation for tomorrow’s Task presentation the Housemates now have to create the villain or superhero which they embody. They also have to design costumes and weapons which they will use during a good versus evil battle tomorrow.

Some of the StarGamers already know exactly which alter-ego they want to embody. After finding out that she will be a villain, Talia mused: “I want to be a villain that controls people’s minds.” Hmmm… How exactly is she going to achieve that? Does Talia have secret powers that we did not know about? We have no idea, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s presentation to find out.

The two teams will be battling for luxuries on their Shoprite shopping budget and it will be an all or nothing fight as the Housemates have once again chosen to Wager 100%.

News: Demands More Booze

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

News: Drunk Wati Demands More Booze
Just like Oliver Twist, Wati wants some more but instead of food to fill up a hungry belly it is alcohol that the young StarGamer is craving.

After spending the entire night and early morning drinking like a fish, the Malawian still had not had enough and after his own alcohol stash ran out he turned his attention to the girls' booze. The entire time Keagan played the instigator, egging on the Malawian to push the girls to give him the booze.

Unfortunately for Wati, Talia was on hand to make sure that he did not get a single drop of the ladies’ liquor. “Don’t even think about it,” said Talia sternly.

The Upville lad got increasingly angry with the Zambian for denying him alcohol and started spewing profanities at her. He turned his attention to Jannette’s bag which had a bottle of alcohol in it but Talia was not having it “You are really starting to make me get pissed,” she warned. Talia woke up Jannette to let her know what was going on. “Wati please don’t disturb me I am not giving you alcohol,” said the soft spoken Ugandan.

Realising that he was not going to get his way with the ladies and it was futile to continue try he then stormed out of the room still muttering profanities at the girls.

It was not so long ago that Big Brother banned the Malawian from drinking. Not even a day after the ban was lifted it is already clear that he still just does not know when enough is enough.
