News: Scores Throng Roki Welcome Party

Scores of Big Brother Africa fans braved the chilly night and thronged Roki‘s welcome party held at RedBar in Newlands Shopping Centre at the weekend.
Roki’s friends, relatives and fellow musicians among them Stunner, BaShupi, ExQ, Leonard Mapfumo, Cindy Munyavi, MC Chita, Dino Mudondo and ex-wife Pauline Gundidza all turned up for what became a big night for Roki.
The Zimbabwean Big Brother StarGame representatives, Roki whose real name is Rockford Josphats and Maneta Mazanhi were disqualified from the reality show after they fought while they were in the house.
Contrary to Maneta’s, Roki who returned home early last week, got a rousing welcome befitting a superstar.
The party climaxed when Roki took to the DJ box just before midnight.
He could have made a grand entrance had he used the front door where most of his fans had waited for long hours to catch a glimpse of their favourite musician.
Roki turned on his swag and quickly belted a rendition of “Baby Can I hold You” by Tracy Chapman, a song which many said was an apology to housemate Maneta.
Roki took the blame for the sensational bust up with Maneta even though most fans symphathised with him.
The crowd went wild when he sang the popular hit “Chidzoka” and filled up the dance floor.
He also performed two of his new songs featuring his close ally Lovedale “Discord” Makalanga and MC Chita.
