Roki Urges Zimbabwe To Forgive Maneta

Posted  on Jun 23, 2012
Booted out Big Brother Africa “Stargame” housemate, Roki has asked Zimbabweans to forgive Maneta. Speaking on several radio programmes and then at a press conference yesterday, June 22, he also spoke about his plans to do an action movie role, Jean Claude van Damme style, the ZimboJam reported yesterday.
“Maneta is a nice girl,” he said in his first radio interview, on National FM this morning, and then echoing his ex-wife’s sentiments from last night said that people behave differently in different circumstances and that everyone makes mistakes.
He added that he had no grudge or any ill-feeling towards her and said that from the moment the two of them left the house they had been kept separate so he had no idea what was going on in her mind. “We should let it  go,” he said.
He also asked for forgiveness from the Zimbabwean people for any embarrassment he had caused them and then went on to say, “I would also like to ask for forgiveness on Maneta’s behalf.”
Roki also spoke about the attention that he knows is now on him. He said that for all his popularity there was a time when people viewed him negatively. “Now there is pressure on me as people see me differently,” he said.
Speaking about his new plans, he said that he wanted to go into acting and do some action movie roles.  He cited the famous Jean Claude Van Damme and Rambo films as examples of the stuff he wanted to do. He also said he would be working on some new music videos.
Roki was on radio again in the afternoon, this time on Power FM with Hazvinei Sakarombe. He repeated his sentiments regarding Maneta, asking again for the nation to forgive her.
At a press conference later on in the day Roki said, “Maneta is a child. I too have done some crazy stuff in my life and people have given me second, third and fourth chances. We need to forgive her and allow her space grow.”
He also kept on saying, Neeta (Maneta) is a nice girl. Neeta is a nice girl,” and explained that he got to know her quite well after they flew to South Africa together for Big Brother. “She looked out for me before the show and what you saw on TV is not the real Maneta,” he told journalists at the presser.
Red Bar at Newlands Shopping Centre will on June 23, 2012, throw a welcome party for Roki which, from activity on Facebook, looks like it will be totally packed. Zimbo Jam will be there with our Jam TV crew to capture the action.
Then next week on Saturday, the Zimbabwe Youth Council, is organising an open air show at Avondale Shopping Centre as a tribute to Roki’s performance on the Big Brother show.
