Rendezvous: Keagan Peterson

Posted on Aug 22, 2012

Keagan and Talia, the love birds who had sex two days to the end   of the showKeagan Peterson, 22, a week ago became a millionaire after winning Big Brother StarGame’s $300,000, beating our Kyle Duncan Kushaba to it. Only the first South African to ever win the DStv reality show that has been hosted in South Africa for seven seasons now, Keagan had a chat with New vision’s Nigel Nassar shortly after his win.

So, how does it feels winning all that money?
Man, it feels weird. I look calm and all but hey, my mind is racing. A part of me feels like I am dreaming and I am going to wake up soon, broke as usual. Then another part feels like Biggie might call me back and say they made a mistake. It’s all confusing, man.
Kyle used his head-of-house powers to save you from eviction at a critical time you could have got evicted and lost the money. Don’t you feel like he gave you the money and so you should give him a bit of it?
Kyle was my buddy; I am definitely grateful he saved me. I cannot be sure how the voting would have played out had he not saved me. So, when I come to terms with what just happened, I will figure out a befitting way of thanking him.
I hear after your high school, you went to the U.S to work in hotels and restaurants, so you did not go to university. Is it true?
Yeah, my parents did not think I was mature enough to go to university after high school, so I left. I only got back for Big Brother.
Now you are loaded and can make own financial decisions. How is the money going to help in studies?
I definitely have to go back to school next year and pursue my degree, man. Information technology is what I am looking at.
You initially said you would share your money with your partner Lee. Are you still going to share?
Our plan was to invest. But those are dreams that people usually have when presented with a possibility of getting the money. But when the money comes, lots of things are bound to change. So I will look at available options before I make conclusions. But Lee will be a part of whatever I come up with.
Why do you think Africa voted you winner?
I cannot tell. But my strategy was to be real all the way. I never pretended about a thing. If you annoyed me, I took you on. Perhaps staying real impressed them to honour me this way.
You and Talia had sex on TV two days to the end of the show. Couldn’t it have waited?
Everything happened so fast, a lot faster than I can remember. See, when you are in that house, part of your thinking is impaired and without much to do in there, you end up thinking about sex.
Now that it happened. What next for you and Talia?
We found intimate attractions for each other and I am convinced we love each other, at least I am sure I love her. We are going to talk about it to know what next.
But you knew Talia and Seydou had got intimate before Seydou got evicted. Seydou even promised marriage.
Man, I messed up. But like I said, it all happened so fast.
So what happens to the girlfriend you had?
We will see about that, Nigel. For now let me first get done with all this press pressure and then I will think straight.

Kenyan Politicians Scramble to ‘Own’ With Prezzo

Posted  on Aug 18, 2012

Big Brother StarGame (BBA) finalist Jackson Makini, a.k.a CMB Prezzo was hosted to a grand homecoming party at the Carnivore Simba Saloon, Nairobi, recently.
With sumptuous delights and drinks flowing freely, the party lived to its great hype as politicians, showbiz icons and hundreds of the rapper’s fans graced the ceremony.
Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa, Makadara MP Gideon Mbuvi and Prime Minister’s son Fidel Odinga led the celebrations as they congratulated the former BBA star, now turned One Campaign Ambassador, promising to work with him in youth related projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta met the rapper later on Saturday. “You did Kenya proud in the BBA House and we are proud of you. This goes along way in showing the great potential our youth have in terms of artistic talent, which should be tapped. I am out to work with the youth in my political agenda,” Wamalwa said.

“You really entertained Africa together with Goldie. I am ready to pay a ticket for her to come and visit you in Kenya, if that is okay with you,” he pledged.
A jubilant Prezzo thanked his fans across Africa for their support saying he embarks on a continental tour to show his appreciation. “Prezzo made us proud and I want to join all Kenyans in congratulating him. I believe the youth should be empowered to live their dreams may it be singing or any other career. You guys (youth) hold the future of this nation in your hands,” Uhuru said. One Campaign Africa director, Sipho Moyo said; “Prezzo joins our growing portfolio of African celebrities, who believe that Africans can drive change for Africa. We will work together so that Prezzo can lend the strength of his celebrity voice to One’s campaigns with its partners across the continent.”
“We will also be working closely with our global design team to come up with a final design of Prezzo’s T-shirt, so that the ‘Swagger Farmer’ becomes part and parcel of One Campaign branded merchandise. We will be wearing these during various campaigns in Africa.”
“All celebrities who work with One Campaign do so voluntarily. There is no monetary compensation attached to our engagement with celebrities,” Wangui Muchiri, the One Campaign Africa Communications Manager said through a press release.

Prezzo: For A Moment I Thought I Had Won

Posted on Aug 17,

Jackson Makini did Kenya proud at the Big Brother Africa and as he returned home last week, his status has grown beyond Kenya’s borders. John Muchiri finds out what’s next for the ‘President’.
Congratulations and welcome back
Thank you and I want to thank all those who voted and represented Kenya to the fullest.
Okay, you are very close to your mother, what is she saying now?
She is proud of me as ever.
Even with the fights you had with DKB and Barbz?
She knows I am a human being and sometimes we get to disagree with people. But the most important thing is how we deal and solve the issues later.
So you don’t feel like you disappointed her in anyway?
I was with God throughout my stay in the house so it was hard for me to disappoint her. She has always been my number one supporter. We talked about the show before I actually got in and so my conscience was clear on what I was doing in the house.
You kept on talking about your daughter while in the house. Why was that?
She is beautiful and she kept me going. Every time I looked at her picture, I just got this strength to go on with the show to the end. The housemates kept on reminding me how beautiful she is.
You fell in love with Goldie while in the house. What of your marriage?
I’ve been married but I’m currently going through a separation. My daughter and mum are the world to me.
Goldie said she still cared about you immediately she left the house. Do you feel the same way?
Yes. I’m not done with Goldie, she is a great person with a great heart. We are definitely going to do a song together and see what happens next. So expect to see Goldie in Kenya soon.
Who was your biggest competition?
Lady May from Namibia. She was behaving like a tortoise, hiding in the shell and keeping in her own space. She never let people know her true self and that was very dangerous.
How did you feel being left with Lady May and Keagan in the top three?
I knew Keagan was going out next and the money was either going to Namibia or home. But I was very shocked when Lady May left next. I knew I was stronger that Keagan, so for a moment, I thought I had won.
And how do you feel not winning the money?
The cash in the pocket is quite something but I’m glad I represented my country well. Sometimes you have to look beyond the cash and fight for your country.
Then why are you telling people to forgive Alex, who put you up for eviction twice?
Because he is a human being and when he came to Upville, he saw Prezzo. He probably wanted to get me out of his way, which he didn’t succeed, but human is to error.
Being the ambassador of the ONE campaign to fight poverty in Africa, what does it mean to you?
I haven’t received the official communication from the ONE International, but I know that if I use the opportunity well, I will do much better that Keagan. For instance, I can’t wait to go to the Jay Z concert later this month. It will be a great opportunity for me I know.
Which video are you planning to release now?
I want to shoot ‘My City My Town,’ the collabo with Cannibal, and I need it released as soon as possible. But there are many songs coming up too, which will cut across Africa.

BBA finalist scheduled to enter into a recording deal with Jay-Z?

Posted on Aug 22, 2012

The curtains may have fallen down in the Big Brother Africa reality show but certainly never marked the end of the road for the contestants. On the contrary, this may have been a curtain raiser for one finalist who made it to the very last day of the reality show. After emerging second, Kenya’s favorite sensation C.M.B. Prezzo seems to be on his way to becoming the number one Kenyan artist to rub shoulders with the number one hip-hop superstar; Jay-Z.
The finals which were held in Johannesburg, South Africa, saw him emerge the very first Kenyan representative to ever make it to the finals, ending up as the first runner-up thanks to the massive votes from his loving fans, leaders, politicians, friends, family and fellow musicians from across the East African region and beyond. The massive support catalyzed by various media platforms and radio stations’ backing ensured that he remained in the house and evaded evasion for a total 91 days.
Now the self proclaimed “King of Bling” has been made the African Ambassador for One International. In his new position, he’s expected to join other well-known international icons and ambassadors in the campaign against extreme poverty and disease, specifically in the vast African region. He’ll be teaming up with the likes of the award winning actor George Clooney, rock star Bono, to name but just a few.
What’s even more viewed as a stepping stone to his music career, Prezzo is now scheduled to meet the one and only hip-hop superstar Jay-Z, and attend his concert staged to happen later this month. All these shall be made possible courtesy of One International. Is he set to enter into a recording deal with Jay-Z? Well, that’s the begging question at the moment all his fans have to wait and see despite the rumors already making headlines in the social media.
His mother, uncle and aunt who were present during the final show were very impressed by his latest achievements of representing the country in a remarkable manner. They’re very thankful for the great support that came along in ensuring that the Kenyan flag was well represented and raised high despite the fact that he never had a chance to be the head of the house and save himself from eviction; given the very many times he was nominated for eviction in the house.
Moments after the closing ceremony, Prezzo said, “I thank God the most for keeping me strong and safe in the house to the last day.”
Though the $300,000 grand prize was won by South Africa’s Keagan, who managed to beat the rest of the five finalists in the show, he revealed his sentiments saying, “I didn’t want Prezzo to reach in the finals because he is already well-known, but when I saw how he was being saved by Africa week after week, I had to accept the fact that he is loved by the people. There is nothing much I could do about that.”
Other finalists who made it were Talia from Zambia, Kyle from Uganda, Lady May from Namibia and Wati from Malawi.

Eazzy Said She Prefers A Tall Intelligent Man

Posted on Aug 16,

Did any of you catch the One Show on Viasat 1 television yesterday evening? I did! And I was surprised to hear Eazzy tell Joselyn Dumas during her interview that she wants a tall, dark, intelligent man and Joselyn proceeded to say any man who fits the bill should get in touch.
I am confused. Does this not further fuel GhanaCelebrities.Com’s ‘rumour’ that all is not well with the Eazzy-Keita relationship? For Eazzy to say such a thing on a public television is rather a strong giveaway that things are very, very rocky in the camp of the two publicized love birds-This is because Keitta does not fit what she wants…Unless she has changed her mind about this!
The interview seems to be only few months old but then, why will Eazzy want one thing and be with another?
I also couldn’t help laughing when I heard her say intelligent because judging from Keitta’s public speeches and responses to questions during interviews and also his stay in the BBA house, intelligent is seriously not one of the words I will use to describe him!!
And if you don’t like this fact I am stating, kindly go back to his eviction and arrival interviews and you will be shocked at how incoherent he sounds even to himself.
Like you heard me say, the lady described what she wants for herself, and she seems to be in a total different pot now. So are you shocked as to why things are not working? Maybe she could’t find what she wanted so settled for Keitta…
We women do not change our minds that quick so surely she must have settled for less than she wanted.
Does this not mean that, if a fitting man comes (which have stated that one is in there now) Keitta will be the history we have started writing?
You know what they say, don’t count your chickens before they are hatched!

Roki, Maneta in theatre encounter

Posted  on Aug 22, 2012

Theatre lovers will revisit some scenes from this year’s Big Brother Star Game at Theatre in the Park in a play titled Roki and Maneta (Encounter).
Roki will personally play his role while Maneta’s role will be taken by Nothando Nobengula.
The play, written by veteran playwright Stephen Chifunyise, is a light-hearted production infused with dance, music and a bit of comedy.
It also seeks to redress the memories gone through by Roki and Maneta during their stint in the reality show.
Produced and directed by Daves Guzha, the play will run at Theatre in the Park from August 21 to 24.
Two shows will be staged each day.
Speaking to NewsDay, Chifunyise said the idea was to offer a platform to Roki and Maneta where they could express their artistic creativity positively and in a more controlled manner.
“The idea is set to relive all that drama, rivalry and what we could rather refer to as their ‘tragic error’.
“The subsequent disqualification of the pair from the reality show added fuel to the fire as emotions hit the roof with followers of the reality show taking turns to heap blame on the two for their reckless behaviour.
“However, it is important at this juncture to give our artistes the positive platform to showcase their talent since their stint in the game also attracted international audiences,” Chifunyise said.
The cast also comprises of the very talented actress Chipo Bizure and Michael Kudakwashe, who will be judges.
The disqualification of Roki and Maneta from the Star Game has become one of the most talked about rivalries on the entertainment scene.
Their brawl has set a trend to some of the most famous comic stories in the social lives of many people today.
Chifunyise added that there were plans to take the play outside the usual venue Theatre in the Park in the long run.
“The idea is for people to see this play and perceive from a positive point of view and not only negatively. We also have plans to take the play around the country,” he said.
What arguably makes the play interesting is that Roki will be making his debut appearance on the theatre stage and will be joined by an equally talented and experienced cast.

Wendy Bolts With Mampi’s Money

Posted by on Aug 22, 2012

Dancing queen Wendy Harawa has been caught up in controversy after being accused of bolting with Zambian diva Mampi‘s dues amounting to K300,000.
However, Wendy blamed Lucius Banda saying he failed to pay Mampi the full amount in time for the show at Mkango Lodge in Blantyre on Friday.
In an interview, Lucius said Wendy was lying as he paid Mampi K300,000 in two installments of K190,000 and K110,000.
“It’s a pity that Wendy continues lying in order to tarnish other people’s image. I paid the money although I was trying to buy time to determine some anomaly and I forgot everything only to be told later that Wendy had taken Mampi’s money,” said the Balaka based musician.
Mampi’s manager Victoria said that they received an amount of K300,000 from the owner of Phindu Promotions Abel Kumwenda and that they gave it to Wendy as their trusted artist to change it for them.
“Wendy was given the money upon trust to change it to Zambian kwacha but she bolted and switched off her phones,” she said.
Kumwenda said she is the one who organised the two shows in Lilongwe for Mampi and that he paid all her dues with the remaining from Lucius paid in Malawi kwacha.
“It was later on Sunday after the shows that Mampi called me saying Wendy was nowhere to be seen and that she had disappeared with their money. We went to her house but she was not there and so I just decided to give them the K300,000 with the aim of sorting it out with Wendy,” he said.
There has been a heated debate on the social network Facebook where many people have criticised Wendy for her action.
The hullabaloo started with former Lucius Banda’s manager Alexander Mkandawire posting on his wall that Wendy had disappeared with Mampi’s payment , money for accommodation as well as Lucius’ K100,000.
But she has gone back home with frustrations written all over her face, by road as she could not wait any longer to leave by plane today and was bailed out by the owner of Phindu Promotions who initially invited the singer to Malawi.
Wendy denied t h e accusations yesterday saying, she was tired of some people’s actions aimed at tarnishing her image.
“How can I steal money from Mampi, she is my friend and actually all the Zambian artists who come here have trust in me. Why should I run away?” she said.
She said Mampi gave her the money to change for her from Malawi Kwacha to Zambian Kwacha hence she sent someone to do the transaction at Chipata before handing over the money to the diva before her leave today.
She claimed that after the show she went to sort out other issues and that her phone went off immediately as she did not charge it.
“I have a problem with my phone hence all those people who were trying to contact me including Mampi could not reach me. But it was not a big deal since she was supposed to leave Wednesday (today) by plane. She has decided to leave by road simply because she could not wait up to Wednesday,” explained Wendy.
She said as a single mother, she has suffered a lot and was not ready for such allegations levelled against her. She said she would give back the money to Kumwenda since he had already paid Mampi.
When contacted later, Mampi said the problem came up because Wendy’s phones could not be reached until yesterday.
Mampi, who participated in the just ended Big Brother Africa (BBA) Stargame reality show representing Zambia, jetted into the country on Friday night before her performances at Mkango Lodge in Blantyre, Mungo Park and Tilipano Leisure Centre in Lilongwe.

Is BBA’s Talia And Seydou Back Together?

Posted on Aug 22,

Big Brother housemates Talia and her estranged lover Seydou are reportedly back together. This rumour has been fuelled by a recent photo posted by the Angolan housemate on his Facebook page a few days ago with the caption “Forever Strong Ndiwe Wanga”. Ndiwe Wanga means ‘You are mine’.
The two had broken-up after the Zambian beauty, Talia had sex with South African BBA housemate, Keagan, after professing her ‘undying love’ for Seydou. Talia had expressed her intention to continue her love relationship with South Africa’s Keagan, which blossomed in the last few weeks in the reality TV series.
In spite of confessing her love for former Angolan housemate, Seydou for majority of her stay in the Big Brother house, she seemed convinced that it is going to be Keagan over Seydou even outside the Big Brother house.
Keagan had also confirmed this to the media “Of course I and Talia are going to be together outside BBA. Seydou is no longer acting so yeah you can conclude that I have taken Talia away from him.” So who has the girl? Only time will tell.

Talia Loves Seydou

Posted on Aug 22, 2012

Seydou was nothing but a distant memory as Talia and Keagan consummated their love during the last week of the Big Brother Africa StarGame reality show.
But even after her sexcapade with Big Brother StarGame winner Keagan Peterson, Talia says she loves Seydou.
In addition to going to Seydou’s hotel room, crying and begging him to take her back as Seydou claimed with photo evidence. Talia has also publicly apologised and expressed her love towards the Angolan lad via social networking site Facebook.
“I will never take back what I did to u Seydou, I love u and its the honest truth, I fell for Keagan and got carried away.. I made it clear to him that I was confused. And that with winning and everything, its so complicated. It makes it harder.. I have said it a thousand over Seydou, i am sorry for everything and if this is my punishment for me then let it be. i am broken yes, I hurt u and its breaking me.I confided in coz I thought u should know because I owe u that much..if that Costs me everything then I deserve it. I hope ur heart is at peace now or atleast close Seydou, I will try mend my heart and learn from my mistakes..” Talia on Seydou SoumarĂ© ( Official )’s timeline.
“Everything I do reminds me of you and every song I hear somehow relates to you. I hate days like today, because they remind me of the one thing I don’t have..sometimes I ask myself, Do I really love you or am I addicted to the pain of wanting something I can’t have? You really know you love someone when all you want is for them to be happy, even if that means that you are not a part of it.
I would follow you to hell if you asked me to.I can’t say that I’m completely happy for you but I guess that’s just a part of life, I’ll always have feelings for you.the world is forcing me to move on but Do you want to know what my problem is? I LOVE YOU I love your name, I love the way you look at me, I love your gorgeous smile, I love the way you walk, I love your beautiful eyes, I love what you look like when you are asleep, I love the sound of your laugh, to hear your voice fills my entire heart with an indescribable feeling. I love the way I can be having the worst day of my life and seeing you completely changes my mood.
I love how when you touch me I get weak, I love who u r..that is my problem…I don’t do things the conventional way, that’s what sets me apart, Fuck the world.I do what I want.It hurts though to see someone you love Ignoring you, it also hurts to see that he doesn’t feel your love. But it hurts even more to know that he loves you too, and just doesn’t want you to know.I’d rather be your lover than your friend, but I’d rather be your friend than your nobody. To let go of someone doesn’t mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find his own path and happiness without expecting anything from him..hopefully that path leads you to me, Forever Strong,I Love you Seydou Soumare. am sorry booboo..” Talia on Seydou SoumarĂ© ( Official )’s timeline.

“Only you and I know booboo..Ndiwe wanga Naine. Love you baby. Forever strong” Talia Hayward to Seydou SoumarĂ© ( Official ) “What is meant to be shall be, i’ll never falter again..” Talia Hayward to SeyliaFans BBA7. Meanwhile, Keagan broke the Talia silence through a post on his Facebook page yesterday;
“Sorry to disappoint but we’ve been speaking about our situation and yes we do have feelings for each other but to be realistic about the whole situation with everything happening around us, and our circumstances at this time, especially with this life changing experience we are gonna leave our relationship for the time being but remain close friends and help each other through this exciting but tough time! don’t get us wrong this has got nothing to do with the whole Seydou situation lol! anyways i hope you all understand!!! yeeeeeera!!!” Keagan Peterson.

Does this mean Talia never loved Keagan? Well, there you have it.
What do you have to say about Talia’s love triangle?

I Dont Need Ghanaians Support Anymore – DKB

Posted on Aug 22, 2012

Stand-up comedy as we all know is one of the entertainment sectors which is now gaining grounds in Ghana. Over the past few weeks, so many comedians came out blaming and accusing people for their poor performance. DKB Has also added his voice to this issue. OMG!Ghana’s readers will admit that most of the comedy events held here in our country is headlined by foreigners mostly Nigerians. From the likes of Basketmouth, Okay Bakaasi, ‘I Go Die’ and many more. DKB has blamed Ghanaians for the failure of comedy in Ghana. He said Ghanaians don’t promote their own artistes but rather wants to see more of Nigerian comedians. He explained the reason why most of our comedy shows are headlined by Nigerians saying
‘ is an individual from Nigeria who organizes his show and he started with Nigerians and they were accepted by Ghanaians and since the person also wants money he has to bring more of them since they are the once our people want.’

He further added that a Ghanaian doesn’t want his fellow Ghanaian to shine. Ghanaians have this mentality that when a Nigerian is coming on stage he is going to make him laugh, but when he hears a Ghanaian name he asks himself is this guy going to make me laugh ? He was at 1011 laughs and when his name was mentioned somebody asked ‘who is that’? All these things discourage a person. He further asked for Ghanaians support for our comedians.

Ghana’s rep to Big Brother Stargame added that he doesn’t need Ghanaians support anymore because he has gone beyond our support . He explained that by saying what he has learnt from Ghanaians is that, the more you wait for their support, the more you grow older and the next thing you realize is that you are dead. A few Ghanians support him but he likes it.
He advised his fellow comedians that since Ghanaians don’t support their career they shouldn’t sit idle but do their research and organize their small shows and they will get to wherever they want to reach.
“Ghanaians don’t laugh at the auditorium but will go to their various homes and laugh there”
When asked if the problem was because Ghanaian comedians are not creative, he said if anybody says that then he doesn’t know what he is saying because Ghanaian comedians are creative. They don’t use black berry, whatsapp and internet jokes but they use things around them to prove how creative they are. Nigerians laugh at their own-selves. They use their own problems to crack jokes for a person to laugh and nobody complains but when a Ghanaian does same, they will start blaming him for using a public issue. All these are because they don’t want to promote their own product.
He concluded that he will be celebrating his birthday in no time called DKB @ 27.

News: Life After The BBA StarGame

Posted by on Aug 22, 2012

It’s been a couple of weeks since Big Brother StarGame came to an end, and we still can’t get enough of the housemates.
After South Africa’s Keagan walked off with the $300 000 cash prize, we caught up with him and he shared his future plans with us.
During the star-studded finale, viewers were left wondering about Keagan’s romance with housemate Talia (after all, the couple were very lovey dovey during the show). Well wonder no more, because Talia laid the rumours to rest about their post-StarGame romance.
Meanwhile, runner-up Prezzo hasn’t faded into the background. He arrived back in Nairobi to a hero’s welcome and a fantastic party to boot.

Prezzo’s passionate liaison with Goldie also raised a few eyebrows, and after the show the Kenyan rapper denied using the Nigerian pop star for his own agenda. Goldie attended Prezzo’s homecoming party, this after he stayed true to his word that she would visit Nairobi.
StarGame favourite Lady May kept viewers guessing as to what she would do next.
From sleeping outside and dancing, or was it rolling around on the ground, to exercising in pink heels, Namibia’s darling was perhaps one of the quirkiest housemates. In a recent interview with DStv Online, she explained her persona and motives during the show.
Rounding off the final four was Uganda’s Kyle, who insists not winning the prize isn’t the end for him. And it’s clearly not the end for some of the other StarGamers who left the show early on. Chris, Ola, Jeannette, Keitta, Zainab and Seydou will all grace the catwalk for the Glitz Africa Fashion Week.
We clearly haven’t heard the last of our favourite StarGame housemates.
