Fri, 20 Jul 2012
Since their stint on the show these good looking and talented lads have done pretty well for themselves and now they will finally be making a much anticipated return to the BBA to perform hit tracks from their collaborative CD ‘Double Wowza'.
Tendai Namate better known as Lomwe, started his entertainment career in 2005 when Malawi’s biggest radio station, FM 101 Power, held auditions looking for the freshest talent. He was one of the three presenters chosen out of 500 hopefuls and has since become one of the most recognized DJ’s in Malawi. His first release was a successful yet controversial mixtape called “Rumors of War”, which is a collection of hard-hitting hip-hop tracks that quickly gained him recognition on the Malawian urban music scene.
His appearance on Big Brother Africa Amplied helped propel him to international status when he made it as one of the top four finalists. The highlight of his career to date is being the official DJ for South African jazz legend, Hugh Masekela’s tour in Malawi. The big hearted Malawian is also a goodwill ambassador for the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).
One of the finest young rapper's out of Southern Africa, Zeus started with humble beginnings at Yarona FM’s Sprite Rap Activity Jam. He was born Game Goabaone Bantsi in the small town of Mahalapye, 220km from Gaborone.
His freshman album Corners, Clubs and Churches was never released publicly and in 2008 his sophomore album ‘Freshly Baked’ was released only released locally in Botswana due to lack of proper distribution beyond the borders. In 2009 he finally got to realise his dream of an international release with his album ‘The Flipside’. This talented lyricist has won himself several continental awards including Channel O. Not only talented but also intelligent this Tswana boy is also a BCOMM graduate.
Catch Zeus and Lomwe live on the Big Brother stage this Sunday at 20:00 CAT.
